Celebrities touch our lives in so many ways, and losing them in an accident can be heart-wrenching. From the loss of the people’s Princess to the stars who dodged death more than once. Here are the celebrities who have been in car crashes.
Princess Diana
The Princess of Wales was an icon ahead of her time, and her crash was one of the most devastating events in the entire world. Diana was escaping from the paparazzi when she finished a date with her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed when her car crashed. She survived the crash initially but went into cardiac arrest, and the doctors could not revive her. Millions of fans have mourned her death, and she is still one of the most respected members of the royal family. Her family engaged a car crash attorney to find out the cause of the accident.
Lisa left eye Lopez
TLC member Lisa Lopez entered the limelight when she and her group members released Waterfalls in 1994. Her success was short-lived as she would have an accident that claimed her life eight years later. The singer was driving on the highway and tried to overtake the car in front of her. She lost control of the car and veered off the road, hitting a tree before falling into a ditch.
Like Diana, Lopez did not survive. Some other celebrities have had better fates.
George Lucas
The Star Wars creator, George Lucas almost never made it into adulthood as he had a brush with death as a young adult. Lucas was in high school at the time of the accident. He was driving a car on the highway and was hit by another road user, causing his car to flip over.
After the ordeal, he was injured badly but managed to survive and create some of the greatest pieces of cinema ever made.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Iron Man Arnold Schwarzenegger is unfortunately not immune to accidents because he has had a few in his life. He was riding his motorcycle when he swerved to avoid the car in front. The actor hit his chest and was injured in 2001. You would think this event would scare him away from riding a motorcycle, but it didn’t.
Six years later, the actor had another accident with a bike. Luckily, though, no one was seriously hurt like the first time.
Paul Walker
For a more tragic story, we have Paul Walker. The fast and furious actor was known to love speed both on and off the screens. However, at the time of his accident, he was a passenger in the car. His friend drove around 90 miles per hour until the car lost control and crashed. Both men died, unfortunately.
Eric Roberts
Popularly known for his role in The Expendables, Eric Roberts almost didn’t make it into adulthood. He suffered an accident which put him in a comatose state for days. He also had to undergo treatment for his facial trauma caused by the accident.
